Welcome to the New School Year

Chinthurst Parents' Association — 2026/27

Welcome back!

Whether you're a returning family or joining the Chinthurst community for the first time, we're delighted to have you as part of the Chinthurst Parents' Association (CPA).

Last year was one of our best yet — from discos and pumpkin patches to our amazing Colour Run every event was about one thing: putting our children first and listening to what they want from their school experience.

As we start this new year together, we wanted to share a look back at what we achieved, and a look ahead to what's coming next.

Last Year in Review

It was a brilliant year of events, including:

  • School discos — now with our brand-new DJ, AJ!

  • Pumpkin Patch providing child care for Parents' Evening

  • The Laser Show

  • A festive line-up: Elfridges, Christmas Trees, Cards & Wreath Making

  • Trundle Bars for World Book Day

  • Pizza Nights & Cream Tea Boxes

  • The Colour Run

  • Children's Portrait Tea Towels

  • Summer Fair, culminating in the Chint–House Festival and a lot more.....

Fundraising & Impact

Thanks to your incredible support, we raised £20,000 over the course of the year.

The money raised is already making a difference, including:

  • Funding resources for the new Creative Arts Building

  • Brand new workshops, chosen by the School Council, for this year

  • Supporting the school's wish list of new outdoor music and sports elements, and the Ocean Room

Listening to the children

The children's voice continues to shape our decisions. When the School Council gathered feedback on our school discos, the children were clear about what they wanted — so we made the change to our new DJ, AJ. When we asked again, the feedback was fantastic.

We'll keep asking, and keep listening to what the children want from their school.

Now we need you!

After two brilliant years, Sophie (Vice Chair) and Jodie's amazing 6 years as Treasurer, they ready to hand over the reins.

Zoë is kindly staying on for one more year to help ensure a smooth transition, but we urgently need new faces to join the committee this year.  The committee is the backbone of everything we do — without it, none of our events, fundraising, or support for the school would be possible.

Please use the contact details below to express your interest in joining the committee or have a chat about what it entails.

Can't commit to the committee? We'd still love your help with individual events throughout the year.

For the Autumn term, we're hoping to run a full calendar of events — including firm favourites like the Pumpkin Patch and Elfridges. If joining the committee isn't for you, please consider joining a group for a specific event instead. These events simply can't happen without a lot of help, both in the planning beforehand and on the day itself, so even a small amount of your time makes a big difference.

Why volunteer?

It's easy to think of volunteering as just "one more thing" on a busy to-do list — but it's genuinely one of the best ways to feel part of the Chinthurst community, and it makes a real difference to your child too.

Research consistently shows that children benefit when their parents stay involved in school life — from better attendance and motivation, to stronger behaviour and a closer relationship between home and school.

Thank you

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers from last year:

Sophie, Rob, Nelly, Francesca, Nuala and Lorraine, our achievements would not be possible without you!

To all the teachers and staff at Chinthurst who support us every step of the way — especially the maintenance team and Jenny — we simply couldn't do it without you.
